¡Hola!

My name is Sebastian, I am a Mexican student who just started a Master’s programme in Innovation through Design, Business and Engineering, a very long name! But it’s basically Product Design with a multidisciplinary approach. If you are interested in this area, this programme is unique in Sweden, you should definitely check it out!

I come from a country very different from Sweden, so let me tell you a little more about it. Mexico is huge, it can be sunny or rainy, warm or cold, green or arid, and in some parts it might even snow if you are lucky! People, however, are warm and happy no matter where you go. The food is also very good, but not just because of the flavor (or the chilli!), but also because food for us is never just food. It’s a moment for sharing time with people that you appreciate. We really believe that food always tastes better when you share it with someone.

I am the eldest of 3 siblings. I have an awesome little brother finishing his Bachelor’s degree and an incredible younger sister starting hers. Our parents always fostered the idea that we should go and follow our dreams, wherever they might lead us. For me, it was Sweden. I’ve always been interested in becoming a Design Engineer and using my creativity to develop new and interesting products that have a positive impact on others. I believe that Sweden’s emphasis on freedom and innovation is the perfect environment to develop the skills needed to reach my goal.

This journey is just starting for me, but I truly believe I’ve stumbled into a great place for learning and having a great time as a student 😀
